According to the American Bible Society, the number of English translations and paraphrases of the Bible is approximately 900.   Different churches, denominations, and individual believers prefer one over the other.  The reasons for these choices varies from tradition to a preference for particular translation philosophy.  Why are there so many English versions and translations? How does one decide on which version to use? Is one version "better" than another? How do you compare translations for preaching and teaching? These are just a few of the questions we will answer is this Exegesis Lab!
